Saudi Arabia begins two-month regularization for Yemeni nationals

The Saudi General Directorate of Passports has launched a two-month campaign, beginning October 11, 2026, to regularize the status of Yemeni nationals residing irregularly in Saudi Arabia. This initiative follows directives from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in response to a request from Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi.

The regularization process targets four specific categories of Yemeni nationals:

1. Individuals without Yemeni passports or travel documents: They can obtain a free six-month visit visa by booking an appointment via the Absher platform and providing proof of Yemeni nationality.

2. Holders of expired visitor IDs or visit visas: If their biometric data is registered in Saudi systems and they possess valid passports, their visas can be extended electronically for six months without visiting government offices.

3. Residents with expired residency permits: Those with valid travel documents may transfer their services to new employers through digital platforms such as Absher, Qiwa (for professional labor), or Musaned (for domestic labor).

4. Individuals with reported work absences (huroob): Those with valid travel documents can cancel these reports and transfer their services to new employers via the Qiwa or Musaned platforms.

Additionally, those in the third category who wish to leave the country may obtain a final exit visa without restrictions on future reentry. Correction centers will be available across various regions, including Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, and others.
