Saudi Arabia plans €6 billion theme park project near Paris

Saudi Arabia is planning a €6 billion theme park project in the Cergy-Pontoise region near Paris, France. The development, which aims to include three major theme parks, was part of a memorandum of understanding signed following a meeting between French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on August 24.

The project is expected to create 22,000 jobs and may include a park dedicated to the manga universe, specifically the Dragon Ball franchise. The Qiddiya Investment Company, based in Saudi Arabia, is slated to implement the project, though it has not yet secured the necessary licenses or released an official timeline.

Local residents have expressed concerns regarding the environmental, transportation, and housing impacts of the development. The proposed site includes a large forested area and the former land of the Mirapolis amusement park. Residents are particularly worried about the loss of current land usage and the potential disruption to local living spaces.
