Saudi Arabia praises strong ties with Pakistan

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has praised the strong ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, emphasizing a shared commitment to increasing cooperation across all sectors. The King sent a congratulatory message to President Asif Ali Zardari following Pakistan’s 80th Independence Day.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also issued a message of congratulations to President Zardari, wishing for the continued prosperity of the Pakistani government and people. The relationship is characterized by deep cultural and religious ties, as well as significant economic and defense cooperation.

Recent developments include a landmark defense pact signed in September 2025 and the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement involving Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Türkiye. Historically, Saudi Arabia has provided critical financial support to Pakistan, including oil on deferred payment terms and loan rollovers, to assist with macroeconomic stability.
