Saudi Arabia promotes wellness and play culture under Vision 2030

Saudi Arabia is expanding its health and wellness agenda as part of Vision 2030. Government programmes such as the Quality of Life Program and the Ministry of Health’s daily‑walk campaign are encouraging citizens to adopt regular physical activity. Social‑media fitness influencers, including Khobar‑based Mohammed Alikhan, Olympian Rakan Alireza and trainer Ebaa Sabbagh, are using online platforms to share balanced workout routines, mental‑wellness advice and realistic lifestyle goals.

At the same time, Qiddiya Investment Company released research showing Saudi adults lead the world in believing that play improves happiness, health, social skills and professional success. The study found 87% of Saudi respondents would be happier with more play, 86% said it would make them healthier, and 78% linked it to better job performance. Qiddiya City, a 360‑square‑kilometre development near Riyadh, is being built around the "Power of Play" concept and aims to house 500,000 residents while attracting 40 million visitors annually.
