Saudi Arabia provides 224 million riyals to support Yemen budget
Saudi Arabia has provided a new installment of over 224 million Saudi riyals to support the Yemeni budget through the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen. This funding is specifically designated to cover operational expenses and salaries.
The support aims to ensure regular government financial flows, improve fiscal policy efficiency, and stimulate sustainable economic and social development. By stabilizing income for families and boosting purchasing power, the initiative seeks to revitalize commercial markets and alleviate economic pressures.
Saudi Arabia remains a major historical supporter of Yemen. Between 2012 and 2026, developmental and economic interventions from the Kingdom are projected to exceed $12.6 billion. These efforts include deposits and grants to the Central Bank of Yemen to maintain macroeconomic stability and support the capacity of Yemeni institutions to provide essential services.
