Saudi Arabia reports explosions and air raid sirens in Riyadh and border cities

Explosions and air raid sirens have been reported in Riyadh and along the Saudi Arabian border with Yemen following missile and drone threats from Iran-backed Houthi forces. In the capital, Riyadh, residents received mobile alerts advising them to stay indoors and remain away from windows as air defense systems engaged incoming threats.

Simultaneously, high-level security alarms were triggered in the southern border cities of Najran and Jizan. The Saudi Civil Defense issued emergency protocols, instructing citizens to seek shelter in interior rooms to protect against potential shrapnel and blast pressure. While authorities reported that threats in the border regions were neutralized and the situation returned to normal, the increased military activity follows recent Houthi attacks that have targeted critical infrastructure and residential areas.
