Saudi Arabia strengthens cybersecurity amid digital transformation

Saudi Arabia is intensifying its focus on cybersecurity to support its rapid digital transformation and Vision 2030 goals. The Kingdom has ranked first globally in the IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook’s cybersecurity indicator for three consecutive years through 2026. This emphasis follows a massive shift in consumer behavior, with electronic payments accounting for 85 percent of retail payments in 2025, exceeding the initial Vision 2030 target of 70 percent.

To bolster national resilience, the Ministry of National Guard, in collaboration with the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA), has launched a mobile cybersecurity awareness exhibition. Inaugurated by Vice Minister Dr. Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Daoud, the two-day event utilizes interactive pavilions and live simulations to educate personnel on recognizing digital threats, such as suspicious online activity and potential security breaches. The initiative aims to strengthen national security awareness and encourage safer digital practices across public institutions.
