Saudi Arabia warns of penalties for filming missile and drone interceptions

The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Interior, through the National Security Operations Center, has issued a warning to residents and visitors regarding the legal consequences of recording or publishing information related to missile and drone interceptions. The prohibition includes photography, video recording, and the broadcasting of details concerning interception operations or the locations where missiles, drones, or their debris land.

The warning, issued in seven languages, comes amid increased attacks on critical infrastructure. Recent missile and drone strikes, attributed to the Houthis of Yemen, have caused significant disruptions to air travel. Notably, an attack on Riyadh International Airport resulted in at least 13 deaths and over 300 injuries.

Foreign embassies have advised their citizens to follow local authorities' instructions, avoid open areas during alarms, and stay away from debris impact sites.
