Saudi Arabia weather alert: Heavy thunderstorms and flash floods predicted

The National Center of Meteorology has issued a forecast predicting moderate to heavy thunderstorms across several regions in Saudi Arabia. The weather patterns are expected to cause flash floods, hail, and dust-inducing winds in Jazan, Asir, Al Bahah, Makkah, and Madinah.

Additionally, thunderstorm activity and active winds are anticipated in Hail, Tabuk, Al Jouf, the Northern Borders, and Najran, as well as the southern parts of the Eastern and Riyadh provinces. The report also warns of potential fog during the night and early morning hours in these areas.

Maritime conditions are expected to be unsettled. In the Red Sea, wind speeds may exceed 50 km/h during thunderstorms, with wave heights potentially surpassing two meters. In the Arabian Gulf, winds are expected to range between 10 and 30 km/h, with wave heights between 0.5 and 1 meter.
