Saudi Arabia weather alert: Thunderstorms and flash floods expected
The National Center for Meteorology has issued a weather report for Saudi Arabia, forecasting moderate to heavy thunderstorms that may lead to flash floods. These storms are expected to be accompanied by hail and active winds that may stir up dust and sand.
Key regions identified for potential rainfall and flooding include Jazan, Asir, Al Bahah, Makkah, and Madinah. Additionally, there is a possibility of thunderstorm activity in parts of the Eastern Province, Najran, Riyadh, and Hail.
In the Eastern Province, high maximum temperatures are expected, with fog likely occurring during early morning hours in coastal areas. Maritime conditions in the Red Sea may see waves exceeding two meters in southern areas due to thunderstorm activity, while the Arabian Gulf is expected to remain relatively calm with light waves.
