Saudi Arabia's Food Safety Authority reports Eid al‑Adha passed health inspections
The National Food Safety Authority (ONSA) announced that the 1447 AH Eid al‑Adha celebration in Saudi Arabia was completed under satisfactory health conditions across the Kingdom. Around 500 veterinarians and technicians were on duty throughout the holiday, and ONSA’s veterinary services inspected more than 3,750 animal carcasses, made field visits to about 350 homes, and handled over 2,000 citizen inquiries via phone and social media. Routine inspections of approved slaughterhouses and butcher shops continued to verify that meat and offal complied with health standards, reflecting a coordinated effort among local authorities, consumer protection groups, butchers, doctors and technical staff.
The agency highlighted its “close‑to‑citizens” approach, emphasizing rapid response and continuous monitoring to ensure the safety of sacrificial meat for public consumption.
