Saudi Arabia's naval coalition and Russian missile strike in Poland fuel WWIII worries

Saudi Arabia announced a 14‑nation maritime defence coalition to protect commercial shipping in the Red Sea and the Bab al‑Mandab strait. The coalition, which includes Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, Sudan and Djibouti, is said to support Saudi preparations for a possible offensive against the Houthi forces in Yemen, amid concerns over oil‑export disruptions.

Poland reported that a Russian Kh‑101 cruise missile, capable of carrying nuclear warheads, exploded after striking a field in its eastern region. The incident was confirmed by Poland’s deputy minister of national defence, who described the missile as “potentially very dangerous.” These developments are cited by analysts as warning signs of a broader escalation that could draw additional nations into existing conflicts.
