Houthi attacks on Saudi airports and Aramco facilities cause multiple casualties
A series of Houthi missile and drone attacks targeting Saudi Arabian infrastructure has resulted in significant casualties and regional instability. According to the Saudi-led coalition, attacks on airports in Jazan, Abha, and Riyadh between October 5 and October 11 caused 19 deaths and 364 injuries. King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was a primary target, suffering 20 attacks this month alone.
In addition to aviation targets, the Houthi movement claimed responsibility for strikes against Saudi Aramco facilities in Dhahran, causing localized fires at an administrative building. The escalation has prompted international responses, including a travel advisory from Singapore urging citizens to postpone travel to the kingdom.
Regional consequences are mounting, with the AFC considering postponing the 2027 Asian Cup due to security concerns. Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition continues retaliatory operations, reporting the destruction of 127 Houthi weapons storage sites and launch platforms in Yemen.
