Saudi Crown Prince congratulates Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has sent an official congratulatory message to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed following his re-election for a new term. The Crown Prince expressed his best wishes for the Prime Minister's success in his upcoming duties and for the continued progress and prosperity of the Ethiopian people.

The message underscores the long-standing historical and bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia, which include decades of political and economic cooperation. Ethiopia is considered a pivotal nation in the Horn of Africa, where its political stability is viewed as essential for regional security, peace, and the protection of maritime navigation in the Red Sea.

Historically, Saudi Arabia has supported Ethiopian development through various investment projects and via the Saudi Fund for Development, financing vital sectors such as water, energy, and infrastructure. Both nations aim to strengthen cooperation to serve their mutual interests and promote sustainable development.
