Saudi defender Hassan Tembehti cleared for World Cup 2026 clash with Cape Verde

Saudi Arabia’s national football team announced that defender Hassan Tembehti, who missed a training session on Tuesday after complaining of leg pain following a 0‑4 loss to Spain, has been cleared to re‑join the squad. A medical examination confirmed his fitness, allowing him to take part in collective training ahead of the group‑stage match against Cape Verde scheduled for early Saturday morning (local Cairo and Mecca time).

Coach Georgeios Donis will continue preparations in Austin, Texas, with the team split into two groups for recovery drills and tactical work. The upcoming match is crucial for Saudi Arabia’s hopes of securing a spot in the next round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
