Saudi FDA warns against unapproved use of Retatrutide

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has issued an official warning regarding the purchase and use of products marketed as containing Retatrutide. The authority clarified that the drug is still undergoing clinical trials to evaluate its safety and efficacy for treating obesity and type 2 diabetes.

Retatrutide has not been registered with the SFDA or any other global regulatory body, making its commercial distribution illegal. The SFDA warned that products sold through unofficial channels, such as social media or unverified websites, may contain unknown ingredients, harmful contaminants, or incorrect dosages of the active substance.

Authorities emphasized that personal testimonials and social media reviews are not scientific evidence of safety. Citizens and residents are encouraged to report suspicious products through the ‘Tayaqoz’ electronic system or by contacting the unified call center at 19999.
