Saudi football clubs Al-Shabab and Al-Ittihad face transitions
Saudi Arabian football clubs are facing significant transitions. Al-Shabab is experiencing early season difficulties following the decision not to renew the contract of Algerian coach Noureddine Zekri. Despite Zekri previously saving the club from relegation and reaching the Gulf Club Cup final, the team has struggled with a loss to Al-Qadsiah and elimination from the King Cup by Al-Wehda.
Meanwhile, Al-Ittihad is looking to strengthen its squad by targeting Algerian attacker Mohamed Amoura from Wolfsburg. The Jeddah-based club aims to recruit the 24-year-old to compensate for the departure of Moussa Diaby. Amoura, who is currently under contract with Wolfsburg until 2029, faces interest from several European clubs, including Olympique de Marseille and teams in Serie A.
