Saudi Foreign Minister represents Crown Prince at BRICS Summit in India

Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud represented Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the 2026 BRICS Summit in New Delhi, India. Participating as an invited nation, the Saudi delegation joined discussions under the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation, and Sustainability.”

During the summit, Prince Faisal emphasized the importance of regional stability, calling for de-escalation and the use of political and diplomatic means to resolve conflicts. He underscored that the security of the Arabian Gulf depends on respecting the sovereignty and independence of its nations and adhering to principles of good neighborliness.

The Foreign Minister also addressed maritime security, stressing the necessity of maintaining freedom of navigation and the safety of commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and other vital waterways. He warned that disruptions in these corridors would negatively impact global markets, supply chains, and economic growth. While Saudi Arabia was invited to join BRICS in 2023, the kingdom has not yet made a final decision regarding formal membership.
