Saudi Hajj teams provide care for high‑risk pilgrims during peak rites

Saudi Arabia’s Hajj Organising Body (PPIH) deploys specialised Landis teams to monitor elderly, disabled and medically‑vulnerable pilgrims staying in hotels. The crews conduct daily visits, assist with eating, drinking, medication, personal hygiene and accompany high‑risk pilgrims on key rituals such as the Arafah standing, using the Safari Wukuf Lansia bus service for those unable to move independently.

In parallel, the Crisis and First‑Aid Unit (PKP2JH) patrols the crowded sites of Mina, Arafah and Muzdalifah, providing rapid assessment, initial treatment and evacuation for conditions like dehydration, heat‑related collapse and respiratory distress. Officers coordinate with health facilities and educate pilgrims on staying hydrated and managing exertion.
