Saudi Health Minister visits Portugal to boost medical cooperation

Saudi Arabian Minister of Health Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel conducted an official visit to Portugal to strengthen bilateral health cooperation. During the visit, Al-Jalajel met with Professor Adalberto Campos Fernandez, advisor to the President of Portugal and former Minister of Health, to discuss health system transformation, strategic frameworks, and population health prevention.

Al-Jalajel also held discussions with Portugal’s Minister of State Reform, Gonçalo Matias, regarding institutional transformation, performance efficiency in the health sector, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and innovation. The meetings included reviews of Saudi Arabia’s progress in health transformation.

As part of the visit, the Minister toured Santa Maria University Hospital and the Gulbenkian Institute of Molecular Medicine to observe advanced practices in healthcare and molecular medical research, exploring opportunities for collaborative innovation and service development.
