Saudi Health Ministry says 1447 AH Hajj proceeds without epidemic outbreaks
The Saudi Ministry of Health announced that the 1447 AH Hajj season was completely free of any epidemic outbreaks or health threats, despite concurrent global challenges such as Ebola outbreaks in several countries and ongoing monitoring of hantavirus cases. Minister of Health Dr. Fadh bin Abdul Rahman Al‑Jalajil said the absence of outbreaks “reflects the care the Kingdom’s leadership gives to the health and safety of the pilgrims and demonstrates the readiness and coordination of the health system with all relevant agencies.”
The ministry highlighted continuous surveillance, rapid response capabilities, and 24‑hour preventive, treatment, ambulance and public‑awareness services throughout the pilgrimage, ensuring pilgrims could perform their rites safely and with confidence.
