Saudi investment fund eyes Dragon Ball theme park for former Mirapolis site

The abandoned site of the former Mirapolis theme park in Cergy-Pontoise, Val-d'Oise, could be revitalized by a new project centered on the Dragon Ball manga universe. According to reports from Politico, confidential discussions have been ongoing for several months between the Élysée and Saudi Arabia regarding this development.

The project, which could exceed one billion euros in value, involves the Qiddiya Investment Company, a subsidiary of the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF). The PIF is currently overseeing the massive Qiddiya entertainment project near Riyadh. While the Élysée has not officially confirmed the details, the Île-de-France region has noted that such foreign investment would be highly beneficial for the Val-d'Oise area.

The Mirapolis park, once France's largest theme park, closed in 1991 due to financial difficulties and low attendance, leaving the site abandoned for 35 years.
