Saudi King Salman funds 1,000 Umrah pilgrims as Pakistan registers 80,000 for Hajj 2027

Saudi Arabia announced that King Salman will sponsor 1,000 Umrah pilgrims from 16 Asian countries under the King Salman Guests Program, covering all expenses. The first group, part of a four‑phase initiative for the Islamic year 1448 AH, includes 250 pilgrims.

Pakistan's Ministry of Religious Affairs reported that more than 80,000 citizens have registered for Hajj 2027 in the first three days of its online drive, with Karachi leading registrations. The paperless system will manage the entire pilgrimage operation, following last year's total of about 179,000 Pakistani pilgrims.
