Saudi-led Coalition denies Houthi claims of targeting Yemeni tribes

The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen has categorically denied allegations made by Houthi forces claiming that the Kingdom intends to target Yemeni tribal and civilian gatherings. Major General Turki al-Malki, the official spokesperson for the coalition, described these claims as baseless attempts to mislead public opinion and divert attention from the Houthi group's internal crises.

Al-Malki emphasized that Yemeni tribes are a fundamental component of the nation's social fabric and serve as a bridge of brotherhood between the Yemeni and Saudi peoples. He stated that the Kingdom remains committed to Yemen's security and stability, seeking to protect historical ties rather than involve tribes in conflicts that do not serve their interests.

In a related development, Yemen's Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Taher al-Uqaili, issued an apology to tribal communities regarding a previous warning issued by the Ministry of Defense on October 22. Describing the statement as incorrect and unacceptable, al-Uqaili announced an immediate investigation into the matter and reaffirmed the military's commitment to international humanitarian law.
