Saudi Ministries launch framework for non-profit educational projects

The Saudi Ministry of Municipalities and Housing and the Ministry of Education have launched a joint framework to empower the non-profit sector in developing and operating sustainable educational and social projects. The initiative, announced during the third Non-Profit Sector Forum in Education and Training 2026 at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh, aims to maximize the community and developmental impact of municipal real estate dedicated to education.

The framework seeks to expand non-profit participation in educational services and direct donor contributions toward sustainable projects that align with Ministry of Education goals. This move supports the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing’s strategy to utilize real estate assets for community service and improve quality of life.

Additionally, the ministers inaugurated the ‘Ikram’ educational platform, in collaboration with the Ikram Foundation and the Technical Transformation Endowment, to enhance the capabilities and performance of civil associations. A separate agreement was signed between the ‘Sakan’ Developmental Housing Foundation and the ‘Fay’ Foundation to support residential stability and cooperation in developmental housing.
