Saudi Ministry of Municipalities and Housing wins IEEE Smart Cities Award 2026

The Saudi Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has secured first place in the IEEE Smart Cities Award 2026. The award was granted to the National Digital Twin Platform project within the category of “Cities in Advanced Economies.”

The platform integrates digital technologies to enhance urban planning, improve decision-making, and increase the efficiency of infrastructure and service management. The project covers several major cities, including Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, and Dammam, utilizing data to anticipate urban challenges and optimize resource allocation.

This achievement follows the ministry’s 2025 IEEE Smart Cities win for its generative AI-based product, “Balady Lens.” The recognition aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 goals to develop sustainable, human-centric, and digitally advanced urban environments.
