Saudi Ministry of Tourism updates Hajj accommodation standards

The Saudi Ministry of Tourism has announced updated regulations and standards for Hajj season accommodations in Makkah and Madinah. These changes aim to enhance service quality and ensure early preparation for the Hajj season of 1448 AH.

According to ministry spokesperson Nasr Al-Ansari, the new framework classifies Hajj season lodging into two main categories: ‘Economy Class’ and ‘First Class,’ each with specific requirements. The updates cover licensing standards, classification criteria, and a revised schedule of violations.

The new regulatory framework includes multiple inspection and oversight stages that occur before licensing, before operations begin, and during the operational period. Requirements focus on operational readiness, safety and maintenance standards, and the continuity of essential services to ensure a safe and organized experience for pilgrims.
