Saudi motorcyclists arrive in Damascus for 2026 rally

Forty-five Saudi motorcyclists arrived in Damascus as part of the ‘Saudi-Syrian Motorcycle Rally 2026,’ a sporting and tourism event marking the first such visit in approximately 15 years. The rally, organized by the ‘United Motorcycle Teams in Saudi Arabia and the Arab World’ under the patronage of the Syrian Ministry of Tourism, aims to promote cultural exchange and highlight Syria’s historical and natural landmarks.

The journey began in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, covering roughly 1,700 kilometers over three days. The route included stops in Yanbu, Al Wajh, Duba, Neom, and Haql, before crossing through Jordan to reach the Nasib border crossing into Syria.

Participants are scheduled to tour various Syrian locations through October 12, including Damascus, its countryside, Mashta al- الحلو, Tartus, and Lattakia. The itinerary includes visits to the Umayyad Mosque and traditional markets. Syrian Tourism Minister Mazen al-Salhani noted that the event serves as a significant opportunity to revitalize tourism and showcase the country’s cultural diversity.
