Saudi humanitarian and health organizations launch new initiatives

In Saudi Arabia, several humanitarian and health organizations have announced major initiatives and achievements. The Ensan Charity Association for Orphan Care in Riyadh is organizing the ‘Orphan Empowerment Values 2026’ forum on October 6-7. Under the patronage of Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the forum aims to institutionalize value-based empowerment for orphans and will feature the launch of the ‘Value Practices Award’.

In the medical sector, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority achieved three global rankings at the 2026 World First Aid Cup, participating among 162 teams from 85 national societies. The authority secured first place in the public awareness challenge, second in the first aid and resuscitation innovation challenge—driven by its ‘Al-Mustajeeb’ app—and third in the scenario-based response challenge. To mark World First Aid Day, the authority is conducting awareness workshops and training sessions across the Kingdom.

Additionally, the Munqidh Association for Awareness and Rescue, in collaboration with the Riyadh Municipality, held a first aid awareness event on September 11 to educate the public on emergency response. Meanwhile, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority launched the ‘Esafathon’ hackathon in Riyadh to develop technical solutions and utilize artificial intelligence to improve emergency service efficiency and response times.
