Saudi researcher selected as international triathlon judge for 2026 Asian Games

Dr. Shaza Mohammed Abo’Ouf, a Saudi researcher and consultant in therapeutic and sports nutrition, has been appointed as an international judge for the triathlon competitions at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games in Japan.

Abo’Ouf is the sole representative from Saudi Arabia among the 24 international judges selected to oversee the event. The role involves monitoring the swimming, cycling, and running stages to ensure all athletes comply with technical regulations and competition rules. The triathlon event is expected to feature 88 athletes from across Asia and other regions.

Nominated by the Saudi Triathlon Federation, Abo’Ouf holds a degree from the University of Glasgow. She expressed that representing her country is a responsibility aimed at ensuring fairness in competition and hopes her participation will inspire young Saudi men and women to pursue international sporting opportunities.
