Saudi Riyal exchange rates fluctuate against Egyptian Pound
The Saudi Riyal has shown stability and slight increases against the Egyptian Pound in local banks during early September 2026. The fluctuations are attributed to rising demand for the currency, driven by the upcoming Umrah season and travelers visiting Saudi Arabia for work or visits.
In major Egyptian banks, exchange rates have varied. For instance, HSBC recorded rates around 13.60 EGP for purchase and 13.62 EGP for sale, while the United Bank showed rates of 13.18 EGP for purchase and 13.66 EGP for sale. Government institutions such as the National Bank of Egypt and Banque Misr maintained rates of approximately 13.56 EGP for purchase and 13.62 EGP for sale.
Regarding monetary policy, the Central Bank of Egypt has maintained interest rates at 19% for deposits and 20% for lending. The bank's monetary policy committee is scheduled to hold upcoming meetings on September 24, October 29, and December 17 to discuss future interest rate paths.
