Saudi Space Agency unveils astronomical guide for 2026–2030

The Saudi Space Agency (SSA) has released an informational guide detailing 62 major astronomical events scheduled to be visible in the skies over Saudi Arabia between 2026 and 2030.

The guide covers a variety of phenomena, including solar and lunar eclipses, meteor showers, planetary conjunctions, oppositions, equinoxes, and solstices. It is designed to make astronomy more accessible to the general public and enthusiasts by providing simplified scientific definitions and guidance on safe observation methods.

The scheduled events include nine occurrences in 2026, 12 in 2027, 14 in 2028, 15 in 2029, and 12 in 2030. This initiative is part of a broader effort by the SSA to increase public awareness of space science, supported by resources such as the Knowledge Space Portal.
