Sauk Centre pickup truck crash damages cemetery
A 19-year-old man was arrested after crashing an unoccupied pickup truck into Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre Township on Saturday morning. According to the Stearns County Sheriff's Office, the vehicle crashed through a stone fence and struck numerous grave markers, causing an estimated $50,000 in damage.
Authorities located the driver, Daniel Meza of Long Prairie, near the scene. Investigators determined that Meza failed to stop at a T-intersection on County Road 17 before the vehicle entered the cemetery. Meza was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and is being held in the Stearns County Jail pending charges.
