Sauti za Busara festival to advocate for children’s rights in 2027

The 24th edition of the Sauti za Busara music festival, scheduled for March 19–21, 2027, in Stone Town, Zanzibar, will focus on promoting children’s rights and well-being. Under the theme ‘Let Them Shine’, the event will be supported by UNICEF to use music as a platform for social advocacy and to highlight the importance of providing children with opportunities to learn and grow.

Festival Director Journey Ramadhan stated that the initiative aims to use the power of music to raise awareness of issues affecting children and encourage the protection of their rights. The 2027 edition marks a shift from the festival’s traditional February schedule to March to accommodate the timing of Ramadan, allowing for better participation from artists, local communities, and partners.
