Savaş Çiloğlu honors researcher İbrahim Tığ for preserving Zonguldak's cultural heritage

Savaş Çiloğlu, President of the Çaycuma Çevre Köylerini Kalkındırma ve Güzelleştirme Derneği, and his wife Gülten Çiloğlu visited journalist, poet, and researcher İbrahim Tığ in Devrek.

Çiloğlu described Tığ as “one of the living cultural memories of Zonguldak,” noting his extensive work in researching, compiling, and publishing the region's cultural heritage. Tığ has authored 24 books that serve as an archive for the history and literature of Zonguldak and Devrek.

During the visit, Çiloğlu emphasized that a city should not be evaluated solely by its economic size or infrastructure, but also by its history, culture, and shared memory. He called for increased cooperation between universities, local governments, and non-governmental organizations to preserve and promote these regional values for future generations.
