Sava implements CAA communication panels in schools

The municipality of Sava has implemented Augmentative and Alternative Communication (CAA) panels across all nursery and primary schools as part of the “Con me… a scuola!” project. Promoted by the Department of Social Policies, these panels utilize images and symbols to assist children in understanding daily routines, social and behavioral rules, personal hygiene, and autonomous bathroom use.

Social Policy Councilor Roberta Friolo stated that the installation transforms a previous commitment into a concrete result for local families and children, aiming to improve daily life within the school system. Following the school implementation, the project intends to expand to public parks, where CAA panels will be placed near playgrounds to facilitate communication and social interaction in shared outdoor spaces.
