Savaş Kartal elected president of DİSK/Genel-İş Adana 1 Branch

Savaş Kartal has been elected as the president of the DİSK/Genel-İş Adana 1 Branch following its 8th Ordinary General Assembly held at the Salmanı Pak Cultural Center. Kartal succeeds Ersoy Kalik, who handed over the leadership during the assembly.

The general assembly was attended by union officials, political party representatives, and local administrators, including Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar and Yeni Parti Adana deputies Orhan Sümer and Ayhan Barut. Discussions during the meeting focused on the economic, social, and democratic rights of the working class, as well as challenges faced by municipal workers and the importance of organized struggle.

In his acceptance speech, Kartal emphasized the necessity of unity and solidarity, stating, “Our struggle is not personal, it is the common struggle of all of us. As long as we are together, there is no obstacle we cannot overcome.”
