Savanna Beef Processors announces seasonal weight category changes

Savanna Beef Processors Limited has announced a seasonal adjustment to its cattle weight category structure for the third quarter, covering September to November 2026. The company will maintain three weight categories: 200–219 kg, 220–239 kg, and 240 kg and above.

The adjustment is intended to reflect current market conditions and seasonal trends, specifically to create incentives for cattle deliveries during the off-season while supporting producer profitability. While the revised pricing structure officially takes effect on 1 October, the new weight categories will be applied retrospectively to all deliveries made from 1 September 2026 to maintain the integrity of the quarterly pricing system.

In recent financial reporting, Savanna Beef reported a group loss of N$25.9 million for the financial year ending 28 February 2026. This loss followed the commissioning and ramp-up of a new abattoir and meat processing facility.
