Savannah Bananas to debut Banana Ball at Gillette Stadium

The Savannah Bananas are bringing their unique brand of exhibition baseball, known as Banana Ball, to Gillette Stadium for the first time on August 28 and 29. The team will face off against the Loco Beach Coconuts in a series of high-energy games designed for entertainment.

Banana Ball features unconventional rules, including a two-hour game cap, mandatory contact on every at-bat, and choreographed performances. The event includes dancers, skits, and player interactions with the crowd. Ahead of the stadium debut, the Bananas hosted a fan meet-and-greet in Dedham, Massachusetts, where supporters could meet players and obtain autographs.

The Loco Beach Coconuts are led by head coach Shane Victorino, a former Boston Red Sox player. Players noted that playing on the NFL turf at Gillette Stadium will require some adjustments due to the thickness of the surface and the stadium's specific field dimensions.
