Savannah Guthrie returns to 'Today' after filming 'Wordle' game show
Savannah Guthrie returned to the NBC 'Today' show on August 10 after a multi-week absence. Her break was scheduled to allow her to film the first season of an upcoming NBC game show based on the New York Times puzzle 'Wordle', which is executive produced by Jimmy Fallon.
During her return, Guthrie rejoined co-anchor Craig Melvin. The broadcast included lighthearted moments, such as Melvin joking that he might leave the program if he won the Powerball jackpot, which had reached a prize of $905 million. Guthrie also recently marked six months since the abduction of her mother, Nancy, and had reunited with former co-anchor Hoda Kotb during her time away.
Other 'Today' personalities were also absent from the broadcast on Monday, including Jenna Bush Hager, who was away for family commitments in Maine, as well as Al Roker, Carson Daly, and Dylan Dreyer.
