Savannah Sutherland wins bronze for Canada in 400m hurdles at Commonwealth Games
Savannah Sutherland of Canada captured the bronze medal in the women's 400‑metre hurdles at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. The Borden, Saskatchewan athlete said the outside lane forced her to focus on her own race and helped her deliver her best performance despite challenging conditions.
It is Sutherland's first senior international medal after finishing seventh at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She becomes the fifth athlete from Saskatchewan to medal at the Games and the first to do so in track and field. Canada sits third on the overall medal table with 17 gold, 15 silver and 21 bronze medals.
