Save Our Girls promotes education to drive development in Kolda

The association ‘Save Our Girls’ is working to use girls' education as a primary driver for socio-economic development in the Kolda region of southern Senegal. President Fama Dia stated that the organization aims to change the regional narrative, which has historically been defined by high school dropout rates and social difficulties.

To support academic success and prevent absenteeism, the association distributes school kits and intimate hygiene products to students from disadvantaged families and people with disabilities. Beyond providing material aid, the group engages in mentoring, close student monitoring, and combating social issues such as early pregnancy and gender-based violence in schools. The organization relies on support from the diaspora, donors, and local figures to expand its reach.
