Ferrero and Save the Children report progress in Ivory Coast

A strategic long-term partnership between Save the Children and Ferrero has reported significant progress in combating child labor and strengthening communities in cocoa-producing regions of Ivory Coast. Results recorded between 2020 and 2025 highlight the success of an integrated approach combining child protection, education, and economic development.

Key economic improvements include the diversification of household income sources, which rose from 24% to 65%, and a reduction in the percentage of families living below the poverty line from 60% to 43%.

In terms of education, primary school enrollment increased from 78% to 84%, while regular attendance grew from 75% to 97%. Additionally, 89% of children in bridge classes designed to recover lost school years were successfully integrated into the formal education system. The program also saw improvements in child health, with the percentage of children aged 0 to 5 showing regular physical growth increasing from 54% to 79%.
