Save the Children: Israel kills average of seven children daily in Lebanon

Save the Children has reported that Israel has killed an average of seven children per day in Lebanon since March. Despite agreements between the Lebanese government and Israel intended to end hostilities, the humanitarian organization stated that children remain at risk due to ongoing strikes on civilian infrastructure.

According to data from the group, Israel has killed at least 4,300 people and wounded more than 12,000 over the last six months, while destroying between 60 and 70 villages. The child casualty toll includes at least 257 deaths and 1,039 injuries. Nora Ingdal, the group’s director in Lebanon, urged the international community to prevent the destruction of infrastructure and displacement from becoming a ‘new normal’ for the nation's children.

Displacement remains a critical issue. While over one million people were displaced at the height of the conflict, more than 348,800 people remain unable to return to their homes despite a ceasefire signed in June. Israeli forces continue to occupy various areas in southern Lebanon, leading to repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement.
