Saverio Gileno Reconfirmed as Secretary of Abruzzo Young Democrats at Pescara Congress

The regional congress of the Giovani Democratici d'Abruzzo took place in Pescara, concluding with the re‑election of Saverio Gileno as secretary for a second term. The assembly also elected Annachiara Di Lorenzo as regional president and Emanuele Castigliego as treasurer.

Delegates from nearby regions and national party leaders attended, and the debate focused on youth‑related challenges in Abruzzo, especially depopulation, precarious employment, and the right to study. Gileno highlighted the need for a stable, multi‑year policy framework covering industry, mobility, health care, universities, and support for interior areas.

The congress presented a slate of proposals: a multi‑year regional youth plan, a pact for youth employment, additional IRPEF tax exemptions for under‑30s, a new law on the right to study, a unified ticket system with free transport for students, and extending out‑of‑region voting rights to regional and municipal elections.
