Saverio Mutone interrogated in Sigfrido Ranucci bombing investigation

Authorities in Rome have conducted extensive interrogations regarding the October 2025 explosive attack on the home of former Report host Sigfrido Ranucci in Pomezia. Saverio Mutone, identified as one of the material executors of the attack, was questioned for several hours at the Rebibbia prison.

During his interrogation, Mutone claimed he acted under orders from Gomes Clesio Tavares, described as a facilitator for Valter Lavitola. Lavitola, a friend of Ranucci, has admitted responsibility, claiming his intent was to protect Ranucci by triggering an event that would necessitate increased security.

Investigators are also looking into the role of Laura Cianfoni, an associate of Ranucci, who was questioned as a witness. Meanwhile, legal efforts continue to secure the extradition of Tavares from Cameroon. Tavares has recently ceased contact with his lawyers, stating he will only return to Italy if legal guarantees are met.
