Savo Minić addresses drug smuggling scandal and military dismissals

Republic of Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić has addressed two distinct political controversies. Regarding a drug trafficking scandal, Minić commented on his conversation with predecessor Radovan Višković. The case involves allegations that Višković’s former security chief, Milan Vulinović, used official vehicles and police rotations to transport cocaine from Serbia to the Republic of Srpska in 2020.

Separately, Minić criticized the decision by Bosnia and Herzegovina Defense Minister Zukan Helez to terminate the contracts of two members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Helez cited the glorification of convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić as the reason for the dismissals. Minić characterized the move as an “unacceptable persecution of Serbs” within the military, while Helez maintained that the armed forces must not tolerate the glorification of war criminals.
