Saw 4K restored Director's Cut announced for Japan revival

A trailer has been released for the 4K restored Director's Cut of the horror film ‘Saw’, directed by James Wan. As part of the ‘Filmarks Horror’ revival project, the film is scheduled for a limited two-week theatrical run in Japan starting October 30, 2026.

The original 2004 film, which launched a major franchise, follows two men, Gordon and Adam, who wake up chained in a dilapidated bathroom and must make life-or-death decisions to survive. This specific screening will feature the previously unreleased Director's Cut in 4K resolution. The screenings will take place in approximately 60 theaters across Japan with a flat admission fee of 1,700 yen.
