Sławomir Mentzen demands apology from Deputy Marshal Piotr Zgorzelski

Sławomir Mentzen, a leader of the Konfederacja party, has demanded a public apology from Piotr Zgorzelski, the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm representing the Polish People's Party (PSL). The dispute arose following Zgorzelski's appearance on Polsat News, where he attributed a specific quote to Mentzen regarding cryptocurrency.

Zgorzelski claimed Mentzen had said, ‘Don't believe Tusk that crypto-people will rob you... Buy bitcoins.’ Mentzen has rejected this version, stating he never encouraged the purchase of bitcoins and has always maintained that such investments are highly risky. Mentzen provided video evidence from a December 2025 discussion where he stated, ‘I am not encouraging anyone to invest in cryptocurrencies; it is your risk, your money.’

Reports suggest the controversial quote used by Zgorzelski may have originated from a social media profile known as ‘Sok z Buraka.’ Mentzen emphasized that his original comments focused on the risks involved rather than promoting specific assets.
