Saxon announces 25th studio album ‘Gods of Thunder’

British heavy metal band Saxon has announced their 25th studio album, titled ‘Gods of Thunder’, scheduled for release on January 22, 2027, via Silver Lining Music. The band has also released the title track as a single, accompanied by a music video.

Produced by frontman Biff Byford and mixed by Andy Sneap, the ten-track album explores themes of Celtic mythology, history, fantasy, and horror. Notable tracks include ‘The Bloody Tower (The Ballad of Anne Boleyn)’, ‘Medusa’, and ‘MI5’, which addresses Cold War espionage and the Berlin Wall.

Following the release, Saxon plans to embark on a world tour starting in February. The initial leg of the tour will cover the United Kingdom and Ireland, featuring eleven concerts beginning in Wolverhampton on February 13 and concluding in London on February 27.
